Developing the complete Student-Athlete
At Celta Academy, we believe that excellence on the field begins with excellence off the field. True development isn’t measured only in goals or wins — it shows up in the way our players approach school, life, and future opportunities.
Student-athletes face a unique challenge: balancing training, competition, and academic responsibilities. How a player performs in the classroom can directly impact opportunities for college scholarships, leadership roles, and long-term success. That’s why Player Education is a core part of our developmental philosophy — not an afterthought.

Guided Development & Player Evaluations
Each season, our coaching staff meets one-on-one with players and their families to review individual development across our five core competencies. These conversations provide clarity, structure, and direction on the players’ observed tactical, technical, physical, psychological, and social abilities.
Players gain an understanding of their strengths, areas of opportunity and growth, tactical understanding, technical progress, and character and leadership growth.
Evaluation is not about labeling performance. It is about building self-awareness.
Aligned with the philosophy of RC Celta de Vigo, we aim to develop not only strong players, but thoughtful, responsible individuals. Reflection, accountability, and goal-setting are part of that process. When players understand where they stand, they can take ownership of where they’re going.
Our goal is not simply to tell players how they performed.
Our goal is to teach them how to evaluate themselves.
